(This
is the last of a series profiling the six nominees for the 2012 Wuxi
Expat of the Year Award.)
Ursulla
Andress, the original Bond Girl, tells the WCE Blog that she wishes
now that she could have been a Moore Girl.
“If
they ever made a movie about the life of Harry Moore, it would be a
longer movie series than the James Bond series, for unlike the James
Bond series which has run out of ideas, they could make Harry Moore
movies for a hundred years and each movie would show us the Archduke
in a new and freshly fantastic light!” said Andress who was
interviewed while on a beach along Lake Taihu where she was searching
for shells.
Asked
why the Archduke, who is also the president of the Wuxi China
Expatdom Film Appreciation Society, should be the Wuxi Expat of the
year for 2012, Andress first shrugged like she had been asked a
question to which an answer should immediately very self-evident to
the questioner, and then said: “Harry's 2012 was simple the
greatest year a mortal human being has ever had in all of human history. If the 2012 Harry Moore was
Babe Ruth in 1927, he would have hit 120 home runs instead of the 60
home runs that Ruth did hit. If the 2012 Harry Moore was Wayne Gretzky, the
record for most goals in a National Hockey League season would be 184
instead of the 92 Gretzky scored that year! If the 2012 Harry was Ronald
Reagan, he won have won Minnesota in 1984 and thus have completed an
electoral college shutout against Mondale. As it was, what did Harry
do in 2012? In 2012, He spoke to over a billion people at his many
film lectures, his book The Poolside Harry Moore sold fifty billion
copies, he was the first man to step on the surface of Mars, he was
the first man to make love on the surface of the Moon and Mars, he
ended cannibalism in the Suzhou China Expatdom, he taught Shanghai
Expats to wear shoes and use fire safely, he survived over a thousand
assassination attempts without messing his gorgeous locks of raven
black hair, he learned to speak Serb-Croatian and Latvian fluently,
and he proved to be an excellent husband and lover to Miss
Moneypenny! Not bad? Eh?”
Harry
Moore came from Australia to the Wuxi China Expatdom to teach English
in 2010. Bringing to his teaching, a life rich in experiences
including friendships with Clint Eastwood and G. Gordon Liddy, and
being the adopted son of George S. Patton, Moore exhibited great
talent in mimicry, sensuality, oratory, dancing, logistical planning,
and writing, and was quickly elevated from his job as English Teacher
to positions of high status and responsibility in the WCE including
that of Wuxi China Expatdom Archduke, Chief Advisor to the King of
the Wuxi China Expatdom, Wuxi Expat Hall of Fame Double Inductee,
Wuxi China Expatdom Minister of Colonial Affairs, Commander of the
Zhanshen Six Mission to the Planet Mars, WCE Ambassador to the
Vatican, President of the Wuxi China Expatdom Film Appreciation
Society, and VIP Card Holder at Gambay's Pub.
“Harry
reminds me of Jean Beliveau who as a player in the National Hockey
League won the Stanley Cup 10 times, and as an executive
was part of another seven championship teams, the most Stanley Cup
victories by an individual to date, and who was inducted into the Hockey
Hall of Fame in 1972. A powerful skater, Beliveau had a
polished air of composed confidence that made him a natural leader
both on and off the ice; and he was admired and respected by fans,
teammates and his opponents. You can say all this about Harry Moore!
Yes! Harry Moore is the Jean Beliveau of Wuxi Expats!” said Andress.
The
winner of the 2012 Wuxi Expat of the Year Award will be announced at
a gala to be held on January 1 at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion of
Gambay's Pub.
If Harry Moore doesn't win the 2012 Wuxi Expat of the year award that the world is in worse shape than I figured
