Wuxi Expatdom Radio Station "On Air"

In a glittering opening ceremony attended by King Gorzo the
Mighty, and watched by an estimated crowd of 288,000 Wexpats,
Radio 4UE commenced broadcasting at midnight last night.

Held atop the iconic Moresky 360, the Expatdom's transmitter antenna
was formally unveiled by the legendary British broadcaster, Jimmy Saville.

Saville, using a pair of golden scissors, cut the red ribbon attached to the new antenna, but (due to an unfortunate misunderstanding) he had to quickly re-attach the ribbon when startled onlookers informed him that the antenna was beginning to droop alarmingly.

Later, at a SRO Gambays press-conference, PM Mango said that whilst the full scheduling details have not yet been formulated, the Expatdom Radio would broadcast an eclectic mix of news and views, talk-back, and music.

For instance, PM Mango said, "tomorrow's programs will include three hours of pop music, featuring selected hits from such contemporary artists as Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass, Barry Manilow, ABBA, The Osmonds, et al. "

Evening timeslots would be taken-up with readings of Shakespearean plays, intoned by Sir John Gielgud".

PM Mango was quick to add that there'd be something for all Wexpats. "For instance", he said, "our German friends will be treated to oom-pah-pah band music every morning!". (2am-4am).

"Our coverage area", he continued, "will extend to a range in excess of 1.25 kms". "And, our station ID, 4UE, stands for 'For Unlimited Excellence'."

  1. "Similarly", PM Mango went on, "Expatdom Canadians will definitely not be left-out"
"They can tune-in to two hours of (uninterrupted) Gordon Lighfoot's greatest hits in the noon - 2pm timeslot".

  2. I hope there is only right wing reactionary talk radio. No body listens to public radio talk. Plus, I don't think anyone in the Expatdom would want the operation necessary to sound like a public radio guy.
